Cheryl Anne Dawson was born in Berkeley, CA, and participated in events involving the Black Panther Party for Self Defense. This story highlights the heightened attention received by the Black Panther Party for Self Defense after a 2016 Super Bowl performance brought into question the nature of its organization.
